What is Label Smoothing?
A regularization technique modifying target distributions to prevent model overconfidence.
Label smoothing replaces hard one-hot encoded labels with a mixture of the true label and a uniform distribution. It prevents the model from generating extreme logits, leading to better calibration and improved generalization.
